kuya ace' top 5 movies

TOP 5: My Sassy Girl (Yeopgijeogin geunyeo, 2001)

this is a very good one. unlike western romantic comedies, my sassy girl's story is not predictable. it has a killer ending. surprisingly, this movie is actually based on real life.

TOP 4: Gladiator (2000)

every element that excellent movies have is in this one. this is what you get if you have a good actor, a good villain and a great story in the same movie. joaquin phoenix's white costume is also the best one the i've seen so far.

TOP 3: Homerun (2003)

this singaporean film won a bunch of international awards including best picture and i know why. it is just great. the actors did a good job in delivering and what's amazing about it is that most of them are children below ten years old i guess.

kudos to jack neo for making such a heart warming film that teaches the value of little things.

TOP 2: The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

i never thought that this film is based on a stephen king novel. tim robbins made an exceptional acting job in this movie back up by a very talented cast. morgan freeman's narration of the story is very effective just like what did in million dollar baby.

it is said that the shawshank redemption is the best 90's film ever and i guess i have to agree with it.

Top 1: Malena (2000)

simply perfect. i must confess that up until now there are still moments wherein i find myself thinking about its greatness.
